Learn the hidden trends of disrespect before they lead to violence

Brief:

Social media algorithms, designed to prioritise and favour provocative and polarising content, can automatically serve disrespectful content and violence-supportive attitudes to young Australians, every day. During their teenage years this can influence their views and behaviour, ultimately shaping the type of person and partner they grow up to be.

Inspired by the Stop it at the Start campaign, Algorithm of Disrespect is a video work that aims to convey the negative spillover effects of toxic social media trend/content on adolescents, helping to break the cycle of violence by encouraging adults to reflect on their attitudes, and have conversations about respect with young people.
